Tulsi Shivaanand is a Writer and Director based in London, represented by Curtis Brown. A successful film festival run includes ‘Widow’ screening at BIFA qualifying Manchester Film Festival and ‘Brother’ winning Best British Short at the London Independent. In 2022 she was selected for the Wild Vision directing mentorship with Wild Child Arts and has since been mentored by director Nick Collett. Her film Daytimers, a short documentary exploring the South Asian creative collective, premiered at London Film Festival as part of the BFI and BMW filmmaking challenge alongside a mentorship with Michaela Coel.
As a British born South Asian Tulsi strives to showcase South Asian culture, untold stories and talent on screen. She uses abstract concepts to create heightened worlds through intense sound, bold production design and styling but ultimately storytelling lies at the heart of her work.
